Pharmacy Museum

We are a must-see when in Ouray!  Take a guided tour back in time to experience pharmacy in the Wild West.  Over 40 years of collecting has produced this outstanding recreation of a frontier pharmacy, including the oldest prescription in Colorado.  All tours are private and need to be booked ahead, or arrive at scheduled times of 10 am and 1 pm on MOST days.  IT IS BEST TO CALL AHEAD SO YOU DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS UNIQUE TOUR!

Curtis and Nancy Haggar built this building in 2010 designed to house their unique and extensive pharmacy and medical collection.

This collection reveals a time capsule of even earlier days with artifacts dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries - even to as early as 350 BC!

Much of the collection has been acquired from local sources including the historic mining towns of the San Juan Mountains.

See our fascinating collection of patent medicine sold by snake-oil salesmen, original artwork and photographs.

Our large giftstore in front of the museum collection features fine art, antiques, jewelry, Navaho rugs, homemade quilts, locally photgraphed cards sold no where else, other unique collectibles and old-fashioned candy.

We also have nonprescription items you may need plus the helpful advice from a friendly pharmacist.

There is also a penthouse suite available for rent.  It makes up the entire top floor and features a large deck off the back with separate entrance and private garage.  With modern amenities intermingled with beautiful art and antiques it has spectacular yet private views.

Come home and relax in this luxurious, comfortable and quiet top-rated suite.  It is available for short-term rental all year round and has received 5 star reviews.  Find it at www.vrbo.com property # 330308.
